Chewing on Ice

Chewing on ice falls into a broader category called Pica. “Pica” which some of you may have heard about before, describes the craving and chewing of substances that have no nutritional value — such as ice, clay, soil or paper.

This habit which many people suffer from can also be masking underlying nutritional deficiencies.

If you find yourself frequently chewing on ice this could be a sign of iron deficiency anemia.

Furthermore habitual chewing on ice could damage and crack teeth-and that’s a major No-No.
